Victoria Delira

I am a Master's student in the Northwestern University + Chicago Botanic Garden Plant Biology and Conservation program. A Chicago native with Mexican roots, I have a deep appreciation for native and wild plants and pollinators, and I appreciate the importance of urban ecology. I love interacting with people and the public, especially with children, to inspire them to appreciate nature and plants. I also love photography and do my best to incorporate this where I can in my work.

During my time as a Master's student, I participated in three summers of field research, with lab work (i.e., seed processing) during the winters. I worked as the project manager for my advisors' experiment, managing volunteers at the Chicago Botanic Garden and at Northwestern University. I also loved participating in educational outreach opportunities, particularly for young children.

I completed a Master's of Science in Plant Biology and Conservation. This MS was thesis based, so I conducted a field experiment, defended my thesis, and am working to publish my paper. 

Previously I completed a BA in Environmental Sciences and a BA in Global Health Studies.

Both degrees are from Northwestern University.
