  • Recording vital signs and maintaining medical records
  • Assist the doctors with writing SOAP notes and auditing. 
  • The main responsibility with my role was to perform electrotherapy for patients. The therapy utilizes electricity to reduce pain, repair tissues, and improve circulation for patients that was injured during vehicular or work accidents. 
  • Assisted patients with physical therapy, such as teaching patients how to use gym equipment to ensure that the patient is healing properly.

Role: Optometric Assistant (July 2021-CURRENT)

  • Verify insurance for patients seeking services from the clinic. 
  • Schedule appointments for all existing and new patients 
  • Use a variety of Microsoft tools (word, powerpoint, excel, etc.) to manage patients’ medical information to ensure that the office is flowing in the most efficient pace possible. 
  • Welcoming patients and answering telephones. With this responsibility, the ability to recognize emergencies is a must because some patients will have certain medical conditions that needs to seen right away. 
  • Taking patient’s medical history, vitals, and temperature
  • Performing basic eye exams and screening tests before the patient sees the optometrist.
  • Trained in using optomap machine that screens the patient retinal and review it for any eye conditions.
  • Help with the selling and choosing eyewear. 
  • Repairing and adjusting glasses to ensure the patient’s comfortability and satisfaction with their purchased eyewear.
  • Trained in teaching contact lenses, sometimes helping the patient put on the contact lenses themselves.
