About Timothy Trainor:

I build platform systems that stay reliable even when everything around them isn't.

My strength is simple: I speak "Engineer" and "Product" with equal fluency. I work directly with engineering teams to solve hard technical problems, like legacy debt and scalability bottlenecks, while keeping everyone focused on the only thing that really matters: does this actually solve a problem for the user?

A lot of my career has been spent fixing platforms that were essentially on fire.

At HopSkipDrive, we had 90 days to rebuild a partner strategy so special-needs kids wouldn’t be stranded. I didn't just write a roadmap; I helped architect the event-driven system that unlocked $2M in monthly bookings.

At White Cup, I inherited three aging on-prem products that were bleeding revenue. I led the pivot to a cloud-native platform that secured $12M in ARR within two months of launch.

And at Firstup, I dealt with the reality of AI hype. Everyone wanted magic; no one wanted to invest in the foundation. I focused on governance and accuracy so we could ship features that actually worked, reducing regression failures by 95%.

I work best in messy systems where requirements shift and teams are stressed. My rule is to cut through the noise, give engineers clear lanes to execute, and ship small so we can learn fast.

If your company is trying to modernize a legacy platform, make AI reliable, or just get control of your delivery pipelines, that’s where I do my best work.

Experience

Senior Engineering & Product Leader | Platform Modernization Specialist

I am a hybrid leader who bridges the gap between Product Vision ("what to build") and Engineering Reality ("how to scale it"). My career is defined by transforming fragile, legacy architectures into high-velocity, cloud-native platforms. I specialize in stepping into messy, high-stakes environments, from safety-critical logistics to enterprise SaaS. and establishing the governance, architecture, and culture required to ship reliable software at scale.
