Tiffany Burnett

I am a Master’s Degree candidate at Seoul National University and have spent my Master’s degree studies focusing primarily on modern Korean pop culture and societal issues. My work experience in the teaching sector and my educational background have allowed me to become an expert in the Korean language, language acquisition and translation. Going forward, I hope to use my past skills and experiences in a multilingual and diverse setting, putting my language and research skills to use.

• Entrusted with teaching speaking skills to up to 80 undergraduate students per semester.
• Successfully carried out individual and group examinations of students, using my own rubric to provide fair and equal grading.
• Worked together with university professors to assist grading of final presentations.
• Adjusted to students’ learning styles and actively encourage all students to participate.

English as a Second Language Teacher, EiE Siheung Eungye Campus, Siheung-si, South Korea                         10/2020

• Followed the curriculum to teach students English, ensuring students met their desired standards to achieve success in their English learning.
• Performed and graded English speaking and writing tests.
• Created and distributed own English learning materials.
• Responsible for lesson planning, sticking to a strict schedule and accommodating student needs within a set timeframe.

• Translated Korean-English and wrote subtitles for hit dramas such as While You Were Sleeping, The Secret Life of My Secretary, The Crowned Clown and The Guardian.
