Terri Alvarez

I am a family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of experience. I believe healthcare providers have a responsibility and duty to serve as advocates for the general population’s well-being. As a provider, I aim to provide high-quality and effective care for patients across the life span. I diagnose, treat, and manage various health conditions including but not limited to cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, neurologic, psychological, psychiatric, and endocrinologic disorders. I can effectively communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized and appropriate plans of care for patients. 

I am currently the co-owner of a direct primary care clinic in Bellaire, Texas. I previously worked in private practice and was a contracted employee providing medical services to various psychiatric hospitals in Houston. Before this, I worked as a nurse practitioner in gynecology/oncology for The University of Texas Health and Science Center. My first job as a nurse practitioner was working for Memorial Hermann as a family nurse practitioner. At this time, I was providing care for approximately 18-20 patients/day. 

My highest level of education was completing my doctorate of nursing practice in May 2021 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. However, I have been in the nursing field since May 2012.
