Tammam Odeh

Tammam Odeh is a dedicated musician and educator with a passion for both performance and teaching. Currently completing a Master of Music degree at SUNY Fredonia, Tammam is a member of the SUNY Fredonia Guitar Quartet, showcasing versatility in ensemble performance. As a harpist, they have performed with numerous orchestras, gaining extensive experience in both solo and collaborative settings. With eight years of teaching experience in harp and guitar, they are committed to fostering musical growth in students of all ages through engaging and comprehensive instruction.

I have 8 years of experience teaching harp and guitar to students ranging from 6 to 70 years old. My teaching approach is tailored to individual needs, ensuring that students develop a strong foundation in both technique and musical expression. I also perform and compose music, specializing in harp and guitar.

• Bard College Conservatory of Music (2021-2023): Advanced Performance Studies, GPA: 3.92. Harp teacher: Sara Cutler.
• Damascus Higher Institute of Music (2013-2018): Bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance. Teachers included Basel Sara, Safana Baqleh (harp), Ayham Nabuti, Human Nabuti, Mazen Saleh (guitar), Ousama Sultan (oboe), Leen Jnad, Aghiad Mansour (harpsichord), Shady Karam, Raad Khalaf (theory and composition).
• Fredonia School of Music (2023-2025): Master’s Degree in Music (currently finishing).
• Berklee College of Music Online: Courses in "Teaching Popular Music in the Classroom," "The Art of Music Production," and "Jazz Improvisation."
• TEFL Professional Development Institute: 120-hour TEFL Certificate.

Teaching Experience:

• Solhi Al-Wadi School of Music (Damascus, Syria) (2014-2019): Guitar and harp teacher. Taught children to read music notation and guitar to ages 6 to 18. Built musical ensembles and encouraged participation.
• Alwan Institute of Music (Damascus, Syria) (2017-2019): Guitar, harp, and solfege teacher. Advised students on guitar choice and level, taught harp and guitar to various age groups, and helped children with solfege.
• Classic Music and Art Institute (Oman/Muscat) (2019-2021): Guitar, piano, and ukulele teacher for students of all ages.
• PlayTunes Institute (Oman/Muscat) (2019-2021): Guitar, piano, and ukulele teacher for students of all ages.
