Surya Darshan Mohan Prakash

My name is Surya Darshan. I have completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at Visvesvaraya Technological University. I have a demonstrated history of success in the areas of new product development and concept design. I have been responsible for the design of relatively complex structures and components in control rooms and plants.

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Automotive Engineering.

I would like to explore the fields of Mechanical Engineering and I believe learning is a continuous process and contributing the knowledge gained with the team and hence strengthening the teamwork will lead to the success of the organization. 

I have been responsible for the design of relatively complex structures and components in control rooms and plants. I have designed heat exchangers, Electrical panels like HV, LT, Signal processing panels, consoles, conveyors, extruders, skid mounting systems, robotic arms, process tanks, and many other sheet metal components. I have profound knowledge in generating BOMs and Designing for assembly and manufacturing as well.

I am an experienced mechanical engineer looking to join an innovation-focused team. I have sound knowledge of software for design, load calculations, and simulation. My experience includes project management and team leadership, as well as being skilled in prototyping, CAD and CAM, and 2d and 3d modeling, isometrics, and P&I Diagrams. My focus is on continuing to build my skills and being an asset to the design team.

I am pursuing my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan - Dearborn - Dearborn, MI, and my area of study is Automotive Integrated System, Design of Automotive Chassis, Digital Manufacturing, FEM / FEA, Automotive Powertrain, Automotive Manufacturing processes, Failure, and Fatigue concentration in design. I am a part of the University of Michigan Racing FSAE team where I am involved in designing the chassis (frame) for formula cars considering vehicle dynamics, cost, material, and strength.

I have done projects in Automotive Integrated Systems like Benchmarking, QFD, Pugh Diagrams, Concept Designs, Verification, and Validation.

In digital manufacturing, I built Robots for developing an automatic pulse oximeter.
