About Summer Bass:
With over 13 years of experience in local government, I bring a well-rounded and hands-on approach to public service, particularly within the field of governmental finance. I currently serve as the Customer Service Director for the Town of Fort Mill, where I lead with a strong commitment to both internal and external customer satisfaction.
Throughout my career, I have held a range of positions, including Accounts Payable Specialist, Administrative Assistant for Utilities and Public Works, Accountant, Business Services Manager, and now Director. Each role has deepened my understanding of the essential functions that keep a municipality running efficiently. I believe financial operations are the backbone of any government entity, and I take great pride in the accuracy, transparency, and accountability that my work supports.
My experience spans across payroll, human resources, accounts receivable and payable, budget preparation, data entry, reconciliations, general ledger entries, and external audit coordination. I’ve always made it a priority to learn not only the duties of my role, but also the responsibilities of intersecting departments—ensuring collaboration and continuity across the organization.
As a leader, I strive to be a subject matter expert who leads by example. I will never ask a team member to perform a task I haven’t done myself. My goal is to cultivate a culture of excellence, respect, and shared knowledge within the customer service team and across all departments I support.
