Steven Singh

I am a long-time educator and am interested in pursuing new career options. I recognize that my career experience may not match precisely with what some new positions require, but I know that I have the skillsets to be an asset to any employer. 

As someone who has been a part of a variety of programs and staffs, I understand the primary job of any employee is to ensure that the goals of their supervisor are attained. I recognize that every employee has a job to do, but their main function is to make sure that the plans of those above them come to fruition. As such, it is my job to make your job turn out the best it possibly can. There are many ways a high-quality employee can achieve this task; I hope through this letter you recognize that I have the experience, knowledge, skillset, humility, and work ethic to be a valued member of your team, and someone who can help your program be a success.

Through my years of experience, working alongside many quality colleagues and mentors, I have developed excellent communication skills, and an ability to communicate in a way that conveys the most important points to diverse groups listeners. I communicate to be understood by those around me and do so in a way that translates to consistent success; so that all parties understand what they need to know and why they need to know it. 

With many years spent working with smaller companies, I have cultivated a focus on details, organization, and most importantly a logistical understanding. I understand how to implement plans and techniques within a given timeframe that directly led to successfully accomplishing goals. 

These abilities were best seen in several ways, primarily at times when I was placed in charge of various departments. Rarely was a minute wasted and tasks always remained on schedule (even when the schedule was altered). My plans were scheduled down to the minute with specific instructions as to what, when, where, and how; taking pride in my ability to recognize both the specific step required to be successful and the understanding on how to implement those steps correctly. 

This focus was additionally on display with my coaching responsibilities away from the practice field. I am hyper-efficient to the point that inefficiency is my pet peeve; this manifests itself in a powerful work ethic with my primary focus being the accomplishment of whatever task I am given in the best way possible. Often times this came into play with work done outside my main job, as I wrote I have worked for a number of smaller businesses and when doing so workers learn to handle a wide range of tasks. I have multiple times, on various jobs, taken over extra responsibilities from other coaches (in addition to my own), this was a result of my ability to get the job done more quickly and correctly. This was always a situation that I preferred, as I have always felt that if there was a job to do it was up to me to get it done; my focus is to get the immediate task done so that everyone can complete their jobs. I have always been willing to help out with all the tasks that are often passed on as being too menial, recognizing that this is what is required to help the team as a whole be successful. I am not above doing the tedious tasks that come along with the ‘grind’.

As I wrote earlier, I recognize the uniqueness of my work experience relative to the position being applied for and thank you for taking the time to review it. I am hoping for an opportunity to be a part of a program where my hard work and skills can be utilized for the success for the team. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

2017-Present                     Calvary Murrieta Christian School            

TEACHER/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR: Taught US History, World History, Economics, Bible & Science- Teaching duties included the integration of a variety of educational techniques into lessons that addressed the learning needs of all students, as well as devising standards that met needs of students of varying levels. As Athletic Director managed the JH athletic Department, maintaining inventory of equipment; scheduled games, officials, and travels; interviewed and hired coaches; managed budget; organized trainings and organizational norms. Additional duties included serving as the head football coach.

2013-2016            Linfield Christian School   

TEACHER: Taught US History, AP US History, and Bible- Teaching duties included the integration of a variety of educational techniques into lessons that addressed the learning needs of all students, as well as devising standards that met needs of students of varying levels. Evaluated and assessed student achievement, transitioned APUSH course into updated standards, and assisted colleagues with various professional duties and requirements. Additional duties included serving as varsity football assistant defensive coordinator.

2008-2012            Liberty High School

TEACHER: Taught US History, AP US History, Global Humanities, and World History- Utilized a variety of educational techniques into lessons that addressed the learning needs of all students; established campus APUSH and AIM II programs. Evaluated student achievement, and assisted colleagues in professional development. Additional duties included serving as varsity football defensive coordinator.
