About Stephanie Weber:
I am an experienced writer and current MFA student at SCAD studying screenwriting. I have a passion for TV and film - especially comedy and horror - with an encyclopedic knowledge of the topics. Originally from Chicago, I am currently living in Savannah where I love soaking up the warm weather and great food.
Experience
I have a lot of experience as a freelance writer and my work has been published in Slate, The AV Club, Mental Floss, Reductress, and many more. I have also worked as an authenticity reader for various authors. In 2021, Harper Collins hired me to be a reader for Mel Brooks' memoir which was a huge honor for me. I worked full time at SK Entertainment which kept me up-to-date on film and television news as I had to find new topics in entertainment to write about for the websites' blogs. In grad school, I practice writing loglines and doing coverage as I grow my interest for film and TV development.
Education
I have studied improvisation at The Second City, iO Theater, and the Annoyance and have extensive experience performing standup and sketch comedy around the country. I got my BA in theater from North Park University. While there, I took a semester off to “study abroad” at Second City's Comedy Studies program for college students where I had conservatory training in all things comedy. I decided to go back to school to get more serious about the film industry and grow my screenwriting portfolio.
