Stephanie Min

I am inquisitive, a quick learner, and deeply interested in conversations about the past. In my experiences, I have been able to contribute my research and collaborate with passionate and dedicated individuals doing meaningful work in their communities. I strongly believe in work that aligns with diverse voices and social responsibility. Knowledge is about access for all audiences and imparting information, creativity, and curiosity through immersive stories from YA literature to digital art to user experience.  

I have a personal passion for diverse voices, literature, and histories not limited by geographical barriers. Creative and heartfelt storytelling has not only kept me company but also been a source of inspiration shaping my studies. 

I have excellent research and written/verbal communication skills advantageous to any  project. I am a self-starter, a quick learner, and do well working independently under assignment and time sensitive deadlines. I have worked as an office administrator as well as directly under department heads in non-profit but also governmental positions. Outside of my work, I have scoured archives for my own interest in learning about early Asian American activism and secured independent research where I combed case studies of superfund sites and endangered native plants with the focus on local instances of environmental racism. I also have a digital creative content using social media as well as design programs such as Canva and Adobe creative suite. 

I am a recent graduate from NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where I study knowledge production. What began with a personal interest to fill and understand the many gaps in my family history, I uncovered something completely different from the narrative I was taught in schools, news, and my own family. My studies have taught me that I can ask the question 'why?' forever as the past is never the present. Throughout my time in Gallatin, I have been encouraged to examine the larger and always present relationship between power and history and storytelling.
