Sofia Reizin

I am an Associate at the Law Office of Dean H Kayes, a California-based Law Firm, and at Albagli Zaliasnik, a leading law firm in Chile, specializing in corporate law and corporate compliance. I hold a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of California, Berkeley, where my focus was business law.

My academic journey began with a Bachelor in Social Sciences (B.S.S.) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), equivalent to a Juris Doctor (JD) in the United States, from Universidad de Chile. During my studies, I served as a teaching assistant in several courses and spent a semester as an exchange student at Harvard Law School.

Currently, in my role as Associate General Counsel with the Law Office of Dean H Kayes, I work for technology companies supporting corporate, finance, licensing and all legal operational elements. We provide services as GC for startup and emerging technology companies or financial services companies; provide corporate support and manage capital/ stock retirements; perform and negotiate VC financing transactions; initiate IP protection strategies and perform licensing negotiations for software, online services and other technologies; support M&A transactions; and, provide all general legal support for business operations. 

Additionally, with the Corporate Compliance team at Albagli Zaliasnik, I collaborate remotely to identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients and partners, and support ongoing relationship development. 

In the past year, I also worked as a research assistant for Prof. A. Badawi at U.C. Berkeley and Prof. R. Bartlett at Stanford University, focusing on the adoption of ESG key performance indicators in determining executive compensation within S&P 500 companies. Finally, I also served as a legal advisor at Koywe, a fintech company facilitating fund exchange between fiat currencies and digital assets in Latin America. I am passionate about continuous learning, exploring diverse areas of law, and collaborating with talented teams that share a vision for innovation and growth in a dynamic legal environment.
