Sneha Magesh

I am a senior at Ohio State University, where I am majoring in health sciences on a pre-medical pathway. My journey in health care research is comprised of research involvement in a wet lab. Now I have transitioned my way into research in the public health aspect of healthcare where I work to understand demographics in various epidemics and work on understanding how insurance plays a vital role in access to health care. At the same time, I have made a significant impact in clinical settings, developing empathetic relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Throughout my academic journey, I carefully developed my leadership skills through active participation in various organizations. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the critical role of collaboration and teamwork in shaping health care.

A big part of my medical education is my commitment to integrating the humanities into medicine, promoting a holistic approach that goes beyond scientific knowledge. In my role as AMWA's Global Health Chair, I led initiatives aimed at addressing critical global health issues, with a focus on improving and ensuring access to treatment for all.

As a part of this journey in my career, I wish to build alliances with like-minded professionals, organizations, and individuals during this challenging journey. I am open to gaining more patient care experience gain a better understanding of how healthcare systems integrate humanities and other fields of study. I worship the art of social interaction and that's what I love most about volunteering in clinical settings and hospice settings.
