I am very excited to be applying for a substitute teaching/PE teaching position. I have recently completed my student teaching at Tetzlaff Middle School and I am looking for a Physical Education teaching position to utilize my skills and knowledge to ultimately not only benefit students but also excel in their out-of-school lives in the Long Beach community. I am a charismatic and dependable Physical Education Teacher with experience in delivering educational assistance and instruction to various levels of learners in and outside of schools. Committed to providing students with necessary tools to achieve academic goals, instilling a passion for learning of cooperative teamwork. Becoming a Physical Education teacher has been a passion for me since attending my mother’s Kindergarten as a child.

During my time at California State University, Long Beach, I have completed and received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on General Physical Education-Teacher Education and have received my Teaching Credential while making the Dean’s List. While attending CSULB, I completed technique courses that included: Basketball, Football, Track and Field, Softball, Golf, Dance, Gymnastics, Tennis, Swimming, Badminton, Volleyball, and Creative/Adventure courses. My favorite part of these technical courses was that I was able to experience both roles as a teacher and a student while learning in-depth knowledge, management, and instructional skills to better teach my students by providing a comfortable and inclusive learning environment. In addition, I have a very strong background in fitness, whether competing in CIF finals for Track and Field Long Jump or weight training consistently (Skill-related to Health-related).

One of the factors that really attracted me to this position is the fact that I will be able to utilize

my education and personal experience to help develop incoming students that will be present in my classroom. My goal is to create a positive, comfortable, and engaging learning environment that will be inclusive towards all students and provide them with every opportunity for to be successful inside of my class.

I student-taught at Tetzlaff Middle School and learned  hands-on how all teachers in the PE Department came together and adapted to COVID-19 to provide the most effective, catered, and engaging PE lessons to students.

I got to experience teaching basic Physical Education (Soccer and Basketball)) to ten 2 to 6 year-old students twice a week over the summer.
