Certified Mental Health Therapist, Youth Villages - Tupelo, MS (July 2022 to Present)
As a CMHT in the MYPAC program, I am responsible for providing in-home therapy, family
therapy, individual therapy, and specific therapies to address trauma and substance abuse.
Intern. Oxford Treatment Center, Etta, MS (1/2022) Worked a semester along side addiction
therapist in providing clients with education regarding their addiction, relapse, and recovery
processes, and help them learn about healthy coping and communication skills, as well as how to
build and establish a supportive recovery network.
Child/Family Protection Specialist Investigator, Mississippi Department of Child Protective
Services (September 1, 2018-June 2022) Professional level social work encompassing services
designed to strengthen, rehabilitate and preserve families and provide protection and care for
children and/or vulnerable adults in need of supplementary or substitute care, or provide full-time
intake services. Incumbents evaluate the social needs of adults and children, develop a plan
directed toward the solution of individual and family problems, and provide protective and
placement services for homeless, dependent, or neglected children. Work includes developing and
utilizing all agency and community resources which will carry out the above objectives.
Director of Environmental Services, Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation, Tupelo, MS (April
2016- July 2018) Responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of all
functions of the Environmental Services to maintain a clean and safe medical center
environment. Ensures the proper guidelines and protocols governing the use of chemicals and
provides a key role in negotiation of cleaning supply and equipment contracts, and linen contract.
Active Treatment Technician. North MS Regional Center, Oxford, MS (September 2006-March
2015) Direct activities of staff involved in promoting the independence of persons with
intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing support, continuous quality care,
supervision, and training while monitoring a person's active treatment plan, with dignity and
respect.
At this job, I have demonstrated the ability to work with all types of individuals. This includes
patience and understanding to communicate more effectively with people with intellectual
disabilities. Communicating and working with staff and guardians of individuals with intellectual
and developmental disabilities helped me learn good people skills. I am motivated and
determined to make sure that all the individuals under my care receive the best care possible
while treating the staff that I supervise with respect and dignity. My job also requires me to train
new staff rules and guidelines of Resident Living to follow to make sure our client received the
care and training need for them to be as independent as possible. This has helped to develop my
oral communication skills and leadership experience. This job also required me to have great
computer skills.
My duties also included assisting with carrying out prescribed programming for individuals,
participating in social and recreational activities for the individuals, writing non technical reports
on behavior individual and activity, teaching vocational training skills in specific trades,
including demonstrating proper techniques in the use of materials, tools, and equipment of the
trade, including safety practices and devices.
Intern. North Mississippi Regional Center, Psychology, Oxford, MS (1/2003-5/2003) Worked a
semester along side Behavioral Health Specialists and Behavioral Health Specialist Tech in
Psychology. Semester consisted of attending seminars, webinars, and with individuals with
diagnosed with developmental disabilities. As an intern, I worked with individuals who were
dealing with mild to severe behavioral problems. I also had to help conduct assessments of the
individual’s behaviors, charted notes, and maintained confidentiality and adhere to all HIPA policies.
