I mostly welded because of a promotion. My other tasks included building cab guards for the back of semis, running a press break, metal sheers, using CNC laser cutters, fixing farm equipment, cars/trucks, and dirtbikes because of my prior experience. Troubleshooting was the skill I learned most here, among other skills. I also taught new employees how to weld and build cab guards that go on the back of semis.

At NCC we are in the classroom for half the day, then we go outside for the other half. When we’re outside, we run digger and bucket trucks, build lines (all different types/voltages), perform line maintenance on those lines, install OCRs, cutouts, and fuses, underground, substation work, and make transformer banks and connections.
