Sarah Duncan

I finish my MA in Military History this month, and obtained a BA in Classical Civilization with an emphasis in Archaeology in 2020. My specialties are Eastern European Soviet History, Medieval Florentine History, Early American History, 20th Century American Immigration, and the Home Front of World War II. 

I worked on several archaeological excavations over the last several years, and more recently have been helping to create an archive and museum database for the Woodville Historical Society as their Technician.

I have worked up the ladder from an Front Office Assistant to an Executive Assistant over the last 10 years with my company, Duncan Disability. I'm currently looking to relocate to the Twin Cities and looking for a new challenge in my field.

I have spent the last several months working to write grants and fundraise for the Woodville Historical Society, we have been working to reorganize and design new exhibits, as well as to create digital database of both our museum collections and the archival records. Prior to this I worked as an Intern on the San Pietro a Pozzeveri excavation in Italy, and a field student at the excavations at James Madison's Montpelier and Johnson's Island here in the US.

I have worked as an Executive Staff Assistant for the last 5 years, and was the Senior Administrative Assistant for 3 years prior to that. I worked my way up from a Front Office Assistant and an Archivist from the business in 2011.

I will complete my Masters in November, 2022 from the University of Norwich in Military History with emphasis on Public History and Soviet Ukrainian Studies. In 2020, I finished my Bachelor's degree from Beloit College in Classical Civilization with an emphasis in Archaeology, and extensive classes in International Politics, Economics, and Cultural Studies.

I studied abroad at College Year in Athens and the University of Malta in undergraduate. I am a CBYX government exchange alumni and spent a year abroad in Germany with the program.
