From the remote canneries of Alaska to the stark white labs of Twist Bioscience's factory of the future, my life has been guided by a desire to learn and grow as I go. This journey continues as I delve into the world of computer programming. Of particular interest is the intersection of technology and biology, though my mind remains open in a world of endless opportunities. 
At one time I wanted to be a professional chef, and while the realities of kitchen life proved less than glamorous, it's my time on the line that inspires my work ethic. Creative problem-solving, continual improvement, and impeccable attention to detail are the principles I base my professional life on. With my varied experience and commitment to quality, I truly believe I can thrive in any environment.

While holding an intern position at Prosper I.T. Consulting, I participated in the creation of a new website for a local theater company in Portland, Oregon. Prior to this, I have extensive experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment ranging from industrial food production machinery to cutting-edge laboratory equipment like Hamilton Star and CyBio FeliX liquid handling platforms. 

Beyond the technical side, my prior work experience has given me a strong repertoire of the ‘soft skills’ that separate a decent employee from a great one. I have friends and family members in the tech industry, and every one of them has expressed that while technical knowledge is important, skills like communication, collaboration, and organization are must-haves for a successful tech hire. I've just finished a Full Stack Software Developer course offered by The Tech Academy. It has given me a solid foundation in C#, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS based UX/UI design. I gained experience with frameworks and libraries like .NET Framework/.NET Core, Bootstrap, React, and jQuery. For database work, we worked with MS SQL Server, ASP.NET/ASP.NET Core, and Django.
