About Roberto Gomez:
Hello, my name is Roberto Gomez, and I am a dedicated educator, community leader, and lifelong learner based in the Imperial Valley, a vibrant transborder community. I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Science and an A.A. in Spanish, History, Social Science, Behavioral Science, and University Studies for Humanities and Social Science, complemented by two certificates in General Education Breadth.
I recently completed my Social Science Single Subject teaching credential program at San Diego State University and am pursuing a bilingual authorization to better serve the diverse communities in our region. My passion lies in fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments, a commitment shaped by over a decade of professional and volunteer experiences in education, community service, and leadership roles.
My journey as an educator began as a tutor and substitute teacher in Alternative and Special Education settings, where I developed a strong understanding of the unique needs of each student. My experiences through AmeriCorps, tutoring in after-school programs, and serving as a Bible study teacher have further refined my skills in communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
Beyond education, I have worked extensively in community service, providing essential resources like food, clothing, and mobile showers to underserved populations in Mexicali and the Imperial Valley. I also organize medical and dental services for those in need, reflecting my dedication to holistic community support.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have professional expertise in custodial work and landscaping, with over a decade of experience in maintaining private and commercial properties. These roles taught me the importance of hard work, adaptability, and attention to detail—qualities I bring into every aspect of my professional life.
As I continue to grow as an educator and community advocate, I am eager to collaborate with organizations that value diversity, inclusion, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I look forward to contributing my skills and passion to your team.
