Rezgar Shakeri

Rezgar Shakeri is a computational mechanics researcher and software engineer with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he is currently a postdoctoral research associate on the PSAAP project. His expertise spans high-performance scientific computing, continuum mechanics, and numerical methods, with a focus on developing performance-portable finite element software. As a core contributor to the open-source projects libCEED and Ratel, he has implemented robust formulations for hyperelasticity, poromechanics, and mixed-field finite element methods. With a background in mechanical and civil engineering, Rezgar brings a deep understanding of physical modeling, combined with advanced programming skills in C, C++, Python, and Julia. His research has been published in leading journals and conferences, and he is passionate about building efficient, extensible simulation tools for complex physical systems.

I am a computational mechanics researcher and software developer with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from CU Boulder and a strong background in mechanical engineering. Currently, I’m a postdoctoral research associate on the PSAAP project, mentoring students and developing scalable numerical models for solid mechanics.

I hold a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I specialized in computational mechanics, high-performance computing, and finite element methods. I also earned an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology, focusing on vibration control and analytical modeling of physical systems.
