Accounts Payable – August 2023 to Present

I am responsible for assisting with the coding and processing of all hospital invoices. I work closely with Materials Management staff to verify required documents are submitted prior to processing payments. I work with staff to ensure funds are available for processing of monthly and quarterly orders and invoices. Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial and the position requires extensive knowledge of accounting procedures as well as use of all Microsoft Office applications

Benefit Program Specialist - October 2018 to August 2023

I performed technical investigation work to determine the financial resources of recipients of mental health services to obtain reimbursement for the cost of care and treatment. This included research, resource identification, and performing client interviews to determine resource eligibility.  My position required a working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures and billing activities as well as considerable use of Microsoft Excel and Access on a daily basis. I also served as a liaison with representatives of the Social Security Administration, Veteran’s Administration, and other federal, state, local government, and private agencies to obtain and maximize reimbursements.

Correspondence Coordinator - October 2012 to October 2018

I performed functions which included: accurately keying data from incoming insurance claim forms (CMS1500 Medical and UB04 Hospital) into assigned software packages; this included selecting appropriate member and provider information based upon client selection rules, also reviewing and routing of incoming claims and correspondence based on content, and high volume time sensitive data entry and analysis utilizing Amisys Advance, IBM Datacap, and AWD claims processing modules. I was a backup to the team lead and trainer when needed and trained several of my coworkers to perform the daily functions of our position including foster care passports, Datacap, returned mail processing, and setting up appeal logs using AWD and Amisys.
