About Rebecca Nelson:

Experienced Insurance professional who recently earned an MA in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages. Currently volunteering as an English teacher to adult learners in my community. Looking to transition to teaching English in Germany. 

Experience

Ten years of experience as an insurance underwriter. Served as a trainer and developed training programs for new workers in similar roles. Mentored new underwriters and provided expertise as a subject matter expert in policy language and computer systems. Teach English to adults in my community from a variety of different language and cultural backgrounds. Experience of a wide variety of proficiency levels, from low beginner to advanced with a focus on business English. Develop lesson plans focusing on reading, grammar, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Create a fun, engaging, and comfortable learning environment for my students.

Education

I have a Bachelor of Independent Studies in French, German, and History from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Earned an MA in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages in May 2023 from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN, USA.
