For the last three years, I have had the privilege of working in women's health, including antepartum care, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery, which has provided me with extensive knowledge in the perinatal process. 

In my career, I have provided compassionate care to antepartum patients, including performing Non-Stress Tests, initiating IV's, titrating medications, such as magnesium sulfate and heparin, educating patients on maternal warning signs and changes in baseline, communicating with providers and assisting with speculum exams or cerclage placements. I've cared for patients with high-risk pregnancies, including Pre-eclampsia, HELLP Syndrome, Placenta previa and accreta, HIV patients, cancer patients, patients who have had a hysterectomy with an arterial line, patients needing multiple blood products, and more. I have initiated Inductions of Labor, guided patients through the labor process, titrated Pitocin, performed cervical exams, assisted in Epidural placement, coached through pushing and recovery, and circulated in the Operating Room for a Cesarean Section. Beyond the physical skills, I have also provided extensive emotional support and reassurance to mothers who have experienced less than desirable outcomes. These experiences have allowed me to grow into the confident and knowledgeable nurse I am today, however I truly believe that learning never ends.
