Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
 Knowledge of diagnoses codes for Agent Orange, Ionizing Radiation, Persian Gulf,
Prisoner of War, etc.
 Knowledge of codes based on guidelines specific to certain diagnoses, procedures, and
other criteria for inpatient and outpatient setting.
 Preformed a comprehensive review of patient health records to abstract medical, surgical,
social and administrative data to ensure all data is correct and ready for processing.
 Worked in VISN 15, VISN 19, and VISN 23 to help support and manage medical billing
while working in CPRS (Certified Patients Records System) and in VISTA.
• Initiated program that standardized employee training that led to customer satisfaction by
15%.
• Responsible for knowing CPT codes and billing codes for billing purposes.
• Able to identify and solve problems for medical claims that were misdiagnosed
incorrectly, the insurance company denied claim for inadequate denial reasons by
troubleshooting all areas of the denial and sending the claim to our billing department to
review, correct and rebill to insurance company with the accurate data
• Analyze and understand the laws, regulations, and practices of health care revenue
operations.

Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

 Resonsible for ensuring the Directors schedule runs smoothly, efficiently and to address
any issues or problems that relate to a meeting with the Director, identify potential
conflicts and able to troubleshoot issues that may arise.
 Worked with leadership to maintain the department’s conference room schedule.
 Drafted welcome letters for signature by Director for inbound military and civilian
instructors, memorandums, and other correspondence and prepared/reviewed for
grammatical correctness in accordance with Army regulation 25-50.
 Scheduled and coordinated internal and external communications efforts by scheduling
meetings, and office calls. Including greeting new staff and or new students to the
college.
 Maintained, filed, databased and other records most of them being PII.
 Process and review all military (AR 600-8-24) and civilian awards (AR 690-400) with
minimal errors. IAW (In Accordance With) established CAC/DOD (Common Access
Card/ Department of Defense) policies.
 Update and maintained the civilian and military rating scheme to provide the Director
with situational awareness concerning suspense for processing OER's (Objective
Revision Evaluations Service) and civilian evaluations.
 Ensures that civilian timecards reflect the information provided by the employee, comply
with established procedures, and are successfully submitted and verified by the
established deadline with no more than three corrected timesheets per pay period due to
incumbent error.
 Maintained copies and process all military leaves and passes as required by AR (Army
Regulation) 600-8-10 with minimal typographical errors per month.
 Place all supply orders in accordance with CGSC (Command and General Staff School)
requirements at least 2 times per year. Additional orders may be necessary depending on
need of the department.
 Mange office communication to support the Director and Department by taking messages
and reporting messages to the Director and others that are time sensitive or pertinent to
the department’s functioning.
 Maintain the DJIMO (Department of Joint Interagency & Multinational Operations)
Director's calendar.
 Communicated and assisted with the DJIMO (Department of Joint Interagency &
Multinational Operations) Operations Manager to help the new Colonel with office
surroundings and staff questions.
 Track all awards for outgoing military and civilians that are PCS or retiring from the
department.
