Experience
I am an animal care professional with a strong background in handling a variety of species, including cats, dogs, small animals, and reptiles. Throughout my career, I have developed team collaboration, leadership, and customer service skills. Currently, I work as a student supervisor at Millersville University's McNairy Library, where I supervise student workers, mentor new supervisors, and promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all patrons.
Previously, I interned as an animal care technician at Humane Pennsylvania. I provided compassionate care to shelter animals, administered medications, maintained health records, and worked closely with adopters to ensure successful matches. Before that, I gained valuable experience as a sales associate and kennel technician at Diane’s Discount Pet Supplies and Adoption Center. I maintained animal living environments, assisted in adoptions, managed inventory, and trained new staff members.
Across all my roles, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to animal welfare, organizational excellence, and fostering positive, supportive environments for both animals and people.
Education
I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Animal Behavior at Millersville University, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. My coursework includes animal behavior, applied ethology, vertebrate anatomy, animal physiology, zoology, mammalogy, herpetology, ornithology, marine biology, genetics, and intro to business. I was honored to receive the 2024 Starbrad Excellence in Science Award Scholarship.
Additionally, I have completed certifications through the National Animal Care and Control Association (NACA) and Maddie’s Fund, covering topics such as Animal Control, Adoption Counseling, Shelter Clinic Management, Canine Body Language, and Foster-Facing Medical Clinics, further strengthening my skills in animal care and shelter operations.
