My duties as a research assistant involved searching for literature in a given subfield/topic area and writing literature reviews. Under the direction of my advisor, I often ran survey experiments at LSU's Media Effects Lab, which included scheduling participants and other proctors, ensuring participants followed the experimental protocol, and recording data. I would also analyze data using Excel, Stata, and R-studio as well as help proofread/edit manuscripts. 

Beyond my experience in political science research, I was a paralegal for eight years, where I learned general administrative skills, e.g. MS Office, scheduling, phones, fax, email, etc. Additionally, I was a writer/reporter for several years at a few small-town newspapers in North Carolina, where I covered local government, crime, and sports.
