Orville Scott

Former NCCC Project and Community Liaison
Madison, Madison

About Orville Scott:

My name is Orville Blair Scott Jr, and I'm looking for work in order to fulfill the financial goals of my family.

Below are the duties I fulfilled as Project and Community Liaison, part of AmeriCorps NCCC's Class 29A in their Traditional Corps:

○ Researched potential volunteer opportunities/organizations for my teams (for
BOTH Red 6 and Red 8), then communicated with the point of contacts from those
organizations to set up ISP opportunities.

○ Consistently communicated with my teammates on: what ISP opportunities they’d
like to do; updates regarding my communication with the point of contacts from
potential ISPs, like whether an ISP would follow through or get canceled, etc.

○ Once an ISP was agreed upon between the point of contact and myself, I
summarized the ISP information -- location, departure time, PoC contact info,
accommodations, required gear etc -- to my teammates in a bite-sized, 1 paragraph
format.

○ Scheduled an independent service project (ISP) for myself and my team during our
Transition period -- which wasn’t required, but was in the best interest of my team
given their low ISP hour count.

○ Reached out to our site supervisor from Point Blue Conservation and coordinated
with them on getting a list of potential ISP opportunities in preparation for our
deployment.

○ Received a list of at least 35 potential ISP opportunities, and was praised by the
executives of the NCCC Pacific Region for presenting these findings during our
mission briefing on January 5, 2023 at 2:30pm.
