Application Coordinator     February 2023 – Present

• Work with senior-level business executives, IT management and personnel, and vendor staff to analyze, plan, and implement Epic patient access tools.
• Educate customer leadership on how Epic functionality can help them achieve strategic goals and improve patient care.
• Guide workflow design and solve technical issues associated with Epic software.
• Collaborate with and lead a team of 14 build analysts to configure software. Appropriately match team member skills to team responsibilities.
• Coordinate weekly meetings with team members to review the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
• Consistently report on build progress and escalate project issues to project leadership.

Howard Brown Health Center Chicago, IL

Patient Service Representative      March 2022 – January 2023

• Assist team lead in training new hires on PSR job duties and how to use Centricity and Epic.
• Schedule patients for appointments with primary care, sexual health, and behavioral health providers.
• Check-in patients for appointments. This includes properly registering patients in Epic, verifying patients’ health insurance, and collecting co-payments.
• Maintain a familiarity with the wide range of medical, behavioral health, and social service resources available to patients at Howard Brown. 
• Assess the needs of walk-in patients and connect them to the appropriate resources within the agency.
• Educate uninsured and underinsured patients on financial resources available to them, such as Howard Brown’s income-based Sliding Fee Scale and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment assistance programs. Assist patients in applying for these programs.

• Co-manage a caseload of 50-60 clients, providing comprehensive community based mental health care.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to improve clients’ mental health, such as Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT).
• Create and maintain up to date EHR documentation of client care plans and services provided to clients.
• Provide case management services to clients, such as helping clients apply for welfare services, assisting clients in obtaining affordable housing, and collaborating with clients to create and adhere to monthly budgets.

Howard Brown Center for Education, Research and Advocacy  Chicago, IL

Intern       July 2020 – June 2021

• Led the design, coding, and distribution of a survey to Howard Brown’s behavioral health referrals to maintain and evaluate accuracy of Howard Brown’s referral database.
• Combine, reformat, and standardize existing behavioral health referral databases across different departments, creating a centralized database.
• Collect and code survey/interview data on access to LGBTQ+ affirming behavioral healthcare in Chicago; write a white paper on findings.
• Write a white paper on the state of HIV/AIDS care for the LGBTQ+ community within Illinois.
