For a duration of 3 years, I was appointed as the Graduate Teaching Assistant in the
Department of Computer science. As a part of my job, I conducted weekly labs and prepared
questions for weekly/bi-weekly quizzes for 70+ undergraduate students for 2 different
Computer Science subjects. The weekly preparation of lab lectures and quizzes were
immense for me to further strengthen my experience and boosting my confidence in teaching
at the same time. Subsequently I had the immense opportunity to build and develop basic
programming competency for undergraduate students with diverse backgrounds and skill
sets. Besides, I also had the chance to engage one-on-one with the students in office hours
where I provided significant support through helping them appreciate any particular problem
and giving useful suggestions that would conveniently guide them to solve the given
problem. Besides I also conducted weekly grading of the programming assignments which
were another opportunity for me to provide feedback to help out students improving their
programming capability.

During my time as a PhD student, I had the great opportunity to conduct research in the field
of Bioinformatics; specifically Representation Learning for Protein Conformation Sampling.
This resulted in 5 peer reviewed publications in reputed journals/conferences. During the
process, I also had the opportunity to collaborate with talented Undergraduate students
which helped me appreciate as to how to guide them through any particular research
problems and subsequently providing them with useful guidance/feedback which they could
use for the successful completion of the project at hand. During this time, I took inspiration
from my advisor as to how to advise and supervise students with a view to conduct impactful
research and subsequently provide prompt and honest feedback on student’s work. I firmly
believe that my research experiences and publication history well-exhibit my potential to
teach various courses in Computer Science.
