Nijah Cherry

I’m a passionate and versatile dancer, choreographer, and instructor based in Powder Springs, GA. I’m currently earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Alabama State University, where I train in a variety of styles including ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, African, tap, and classical Indian dance. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in several university productions and guest works, and I’ve choreographed original pieces like “Fly Caged Bird.” I also teach dance to students of all ages, with experience at Mable House Arts Center, Dancing Beats Studio, and through my own private lessons. In addition to performance and teaching, I have skills in stage management, costuming, video editing, and managing social media for artists.

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Alabama State University (2022–2026), where I’ve trained extensively in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, African, and tap. My coursework has included dance composition, improvisation, and dance history, which have deepened both my technical foundation and creative voice. I’ve also received additional training through the Sensational Stingettes Dance Team and classical Indian dance under Sudha Raghuram.
