Nathan Bauer

I graduated with a Geoscience Degree from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and I have recently obtained my Technical CAD Certificate from Nashville State Community College. I interned at CONSOR Engineering in 2022, and I worked at Wiser Consultants from 2022-2024.  My position with Wiser Consultants was recently terminated due to its merger with HMB Professional Engineers.

I am proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel, CAD products such as AutoCAD and Bentley products, Google Earth/Google Street View, and downloading Tennessee State Lidar Data.

I'm wanting to expand my knowledge in Civil 3D and I'm wanting to go after my drone license within a year.

I am very reliable, detail-oriented individual who can excels at critical thinking, can work independently or in a team environment, and asks questions and accepts feedback to ensure that my work meets or exceeds your expectations. 

At Wiser Consultants my job title was Survey CAD Tech.

• Developed 2D Profiles in Openroads Designer & Geopak (Microstation).
• Constructed Drainages Areas in the software using Tennessee Lidar data for crossing storming and culvert pipes for groundwater runoff.
• Researched inventive ways to resolve specific bugs with Openroads Designer software.
• Collected Tax Cards and Deeds to create an Acquisition Table, so letters could be sent to homeowners before the company would survey an area. 
• Utilized Google Earth, Google Street View, Tennessee Ortho, and TDOT Plans to visualize, compare, and make changes to a survey.
• Created notes for newly updated Openroads Designer so coworkers could process the information.

I was an intern at Consor Engineers before Wiser Consultants, I:

• Constructed drawings using survey data and labeled parts of the survey using Bentley CAD software (OpenRoads).
• Developed an elevation model with the survey data. 
• Shadowed experienced surveyors in the field, assisting them in creating shots, understanding why they made specific shots and gained understanding of Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) survey codes. 
• Set up the tripod on multiple occasions, learned how to use the Carlson Software, and shot the TopCon instrument under the direction of another team member using the rod.
• Assisted co-workers in conducting culvert inspections, and then completed inspections without assistance. 
• Participated in company town hall meetings and surveys throughout my internship. 

Nashville State Community College, I learned how to use mainly Auto Cad on projects. I received my CAD Certificate in December 2023.
