Natasha Wedgwood

Hello! I have worked in long term care as an LPN for 8 yrs now, mostly with dementia patients. I have a passion for nursing and helping others to  reach  their potential and accomplish goals. I currently  have one semester of RN school complete and  plan to complete my other semester next spring. I am a veteran, served 4 yrs in the army National guard. I enjoy working with o others in an environment that  encourages growth and learning.   I’m excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to meet the team. 

i have worked in nursing the last 13 yrs, as a CNA for 5 yrs and an LPN for 8. Working in long term care as a charge nurse with many subordinates and   support staff. We work together as a team to care for elderly dementia patients that are sometimes  agitated and combative.  I have been taught De-escalation techniques and  am current with dementia and memory  loss support training. I enjoy helping others in their time of need and start every day with an attitude of gratitude to my patients for all the lessons they teach me. Each day is a new learning experience. 

I graduated from MCC with my LPN in 2015. Most recently I completed one semester of the ADN program at Ellsworth community college in Iowa falls. I plan to finish my degree next spring and  look forward to that opportunity. I am current in CPR as I took the BLS for healthcare workers in dec of 2022. I also completed 2 semesters at mercy college of health sciences 2021, although I did not complete my degree there the experience was  extraordinary.
