Millissa Flanagan is a global transformational leader with 25+ years of experience in developing and implementing business operating models and hyper-scaling industrialization across various sectors including chemicals, refining, plastics, automotive, minerals, a recent technology startup in the textile sector, and most recently a USDA farm business startup as well as managing her own advisory business. Known for her expertise in strategic operational leadership, digital twin, AI-driven manufacturing excellence, global supply chain strategy, operational excellence, operational strategy, ESG and Safety mentorship, capital project management, and succession planning, she creates value through safety improvements, productivity gains, capital efficiency, quality enhancements, working capital savings, and logistics optimization.

Millissa's functional expertise spans environmental health and safety, process safety management, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, engineering, capital projects, enterprise modeling systems, digitization, organizational change management, operational process excellence, product line strategies, business acumen, design-build, strategic leadership, business planning, and operations. Her skills are highly transferable across multiple industry verticals. As a strategic visionary, she collaborates with stakeholders from the shop floor to the C-suite and boardrooms to establish business strategies, organizational structures, and efficient global deployment models.

Having lived and worked in 9 US states and internationally in Amsterdam, Zurich, Switzerland, and London, Millissa has extensive global experience across 24 countries in the Americas, Europe/Nordics, Asia, and the Middle East. Passionate about talent development and sustainable missions, she has been a keynote speaker for large corporations and nonprofit organizations, including the Association for Supply Chain Management and the Power on Heels Foundation.

As a mentor, she has supported diversity initiatives in networks like the GE Women’s Network, SABIC Executive Women’s Network, and the AkzoNobel PPC Leadership Program, and recently as an executive sponsor for the Johnson Matthey Latino Employee Resource Group. Recognized for her contributions, Millissa was elected as a board member for the APICS Association for Supply Chain Management.

Millissa has held diverse roles in the C-suite, company boards, and leadership teams. She supported a sustainable vertical stealth startup as Chief Operating Officer and was previously the Chief Operating Officer for Johnson Matthey’s Clean Air Sector, successfully scaling the business remotely during Covid-19. Prior roles include leadership positions at AkzoNobel and Novelis, transforming global teams and driving supply chain excellence.

Her experience at GE Plastics and SABIC Industries provided a strong global connection, leveraging operations, engineering, and Six Sigma methodologies. From 1986 to 2005, she built a solid foundation in safety, process safety management, engineering, operations, enterprise modeling, economics and customer service, and at ConocoPhillips.

Millissa holds a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from McNeese State University.
