Experience
Life and Health Insurance Agent Bankers LIfe - Pleasanton, CA January 2025 to February 2025
I gained a working knowledge of our Medicare, Life Insurance, Long Term Care, Retirement, and Annuity services. Reached out to potential prospects within our specified service area through making phone calls within our warm market, sending out mailers directly to their addresses, and going door to door while out in the field. I learned a variety of different scripts which aided in making these calls to schedule appointments and learned how to run in person appointments from start to finish. I would then head out to clients houses or other designated meeting areas specified by our clients so that we can communicate in a safe, welcoming, and calm environment so that we can tend to any immediate needs as well as identify any additional needs they may need assistance with and render any services in a safe and timely manner.
Mail Processing/Window Clerk United States Postal Service - California November 2018 to October 2024
San Jose P&DC/ Oakland P&DC- I learned how to load/unload various trucks with incoming/outgoing mail, packages, postal containers and various other items that would come in and out of the building at all hours of the day. I had to learn how to read, interpret, setup, take down, and train a wide range of different personnel on various sorting processes that handled said items mentioned above into a wide range of local/nonlocal sorting process that helped further refine our trucks loads into various post offices throughout California for further distribution. I learned how to identify, handle, and notify various personnel throughout the building about any safety hazards, broken items, suspicious activity, what items can and can’t go through various sorting processes, and did my part in upkeeping a well maintained, safe, and welcoming environment. I also helped keep people informed of how to move out throughout the company, how the seniority list works, how to get information on the union contract, how the bid list works, and how to keep themselves within compliance and safe as they carried out their respective duties.
West Grand Ave Carrier Annex/Emeryville Station/Dimond Station- I learned how to open/ close each station and their POS Systems. I accepted/unloaded various postal/non-postal trucks dispatched from the processing and distribution centers into the building. I then would help process these truck loads through further distribution to 20-30+ city/rural carriers routes meant for same day delivery (unless otherwise specified). Once each sorting process is finished I would further separate all accountables (express/certified/registered/c.o.d. mail/ cremated remains) as well as each routes keys directly to the carriers to be signed out. I would then take any missent items to be sorted in their designated outgoing containers to be sent back out to Oakland P&DC to be reprocessed and sent out to their correct delivery destinations. I kept a strong working knowledge of all postal related products and procedures, learned how to carry out various postal transactions, kept a well maintained drawer, did regular drops to ensure my till only held as close to the minimum amount needed to operate, and kept track of all monies/money orders/stamps assigned to me at all times. I welcomed each and every customer, helped them through a variety of different transactions, answered a wide range of questions regarding our services/products/procedures/passports/schedule passport appointments, and helped in the handling of varying customer complaints regarding mail delivery issues/mail fraud/broken boxes and quite a bit more. I also trained a variety of different personnel on how to do the same and keep themselves in compliance and safe as they carried out their respective duties as well as how to abide by the union contract and understand it to the best of their ability.
Deckhand/Ticket Booth Operator USS Pampanito (SS-383) San Francisco, CA July 2016 to November 2018
Deckhand- I learned a lot about the history of the USS Pampanito (SS-383) a 1943 WWII Balao Class Submarine repurposed from active duty/training vessel into a museum ship with an audio guided tour and education program in which various groups can either take part in on their own or as groups throughout the day and overnight tours in which they get to spend the night while the vessel remains wet docked at Pier 45 in San Francisco. I helped take part in its 24 hour surveillance, maintain various displays on and off the submarine. I also took part in various restorative projects (such as prepare the submarine for dry dock and reset the submarine back for usual business as a tourist attraction/museum ship). I regularly rounds throughout the submarine, pier, and work area as well as logged all work done, kept track of all inventory, and ensured that no unwanted guest had access to the submarine or the surrounding areas as well as regularly checked all gates, which included two federally protected service gates at each end of the pier. I would even go out across the upper part of the submarine outside of the touring path to wash the far ends of the aft and forward of the submarine of any debris and bird poop to help keep it looking museum ready. I would also assist in a variety of special events such as beer tastings/reunions/corporate/private events/movies on the pier and learned how to safely serve guest various alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages and food.

I also setup/reset all the headphones and iPod Shuffles we used for our audio tours, handed them out to our guest as they purchased admission, helped tend to general questions regarding the submarine/our educational programs/overnight educational programs and also answer various questions regarding the local area and how to get in and out of the area, too. I also did various clerical work such as answer phones/take messages/schedule appointments/take note of any special guest so that I may give management a heads up of any special guest or services we should provide to said special guest.

I helped in keeping a consistent and smooth seating rotation, setup and take down sections, helped assign servers to sections, took reservation, implemented a waiting list as needed, and did my part in helping everyone that came through our doors feel seen, understood, and appreciated. I would also do my part in helping keep track of all available tables as well as which ones were ready to be sat as well as which ones needed to be cleaned either by verbal communication with all staff or through our iPad which had specialized software that allowed us to update our seating electronically.

Music Tutor Los Medanos College - Pittsburg, CA August 2010 to June 2012
I actively tutored students (including some of my classmates) from all walks of life, ages, backgrounds, and skill levels in beginning, intermediate, and advanced music theory and voice performance in one on one and group study sessions. I also made sure to build strong and effective communication with all the teachers within my department to ensure I had a strong working knowledge of all subjects actively being taught throughout the semester to ensure I was ready to address any and all student needs. I did this by keeping updated fliers posted in all preset areas designated for promotional information, placed in designated areas within each classroom, and went to each class throughout the semester to announce my tutoring hours in person. Also sent out emails to many of the students and all staff to ensure they were capable of helping keep people informed in addition to the fliers. I also ensured that all teachers and students were aware of my tutoring hours within the tutoring center and music building as well as setup tutoring sessions outside of my regular tutoring hours for students who needed additional assistance on a case by case basis. I kept detailed logs of all tutoring sessions, kept track of each students progress, and helped keep each student on track of meeting or exceeding their goals along the way.
