About Michelle Abela Schwartz:
Ever since I was a child, I had a passion for taking care of others, especially children. As I grew older, I developed an infatuation with science, which in turn led me to study Biology in college. Once I graduated, I realized I can combine my passions and entered a very fulfilling career teaching different science subjects ranging from Biology, physical science, and chemistry.
I am certified to teach grades seven through twelve in general science, biology, and students with disabilities. Teaching is a true passion of mine, and although I loved teaching for nine years at my last school district, I had to resign due to family responsibilities.
Through my study of education and experience in the field, I have gained a strong belief in an environment that incorporates constructivist teaching and cooperative learning. I value student thinking and believe it is a cornerstone in the active process of building knowledge. I love science and especially have a passion for Biology. I hope to instill that same excitement while working with others.
Throughout my years as a teacher, I had the pleasure of working with other encouraging, innovative, and enthusiastic teachers. I aspire to give back to the field of education all that I have gained from it, and I firmly believe my ideas, principles, and enthusiasm will help me achieve this goal.
