Michael Leiting

My name is Michael Leiting, and I am a third year architecture student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln! I am currently working towards a Bachelors of Architectural Studies, with minors in Community and Regional Planning, and Landscape Architecture. I currently have 320 hours of reported experience as well as ~200 hours from a high school internship at a local firm. This practice has allowed me to become proficient in Rhino, Revit, and the multitude of Adobe Creative Cloud applications. I also have an intermediate understanding of ArcGIS and Excel, both of which I acquired through a secondary internship relating to Community and Regional Planning. I am looking to build on my head start through new experiences, new perspectives and new opportunities.

    • Worked with clients and a design team to create conceptual designs, renderings and diagram for potential and confirmed projects.
    • Used local GIS information to create development plots for client presentation.
• University Research Study Intern
  • August 2022 - Present
    • Used ArcGIS and similar planning programs to study the impact of the University's growth on marginalized and minority neighborhoods. 
    • Worked with a research team to compile and study historical documents to simplify them into usable data for future research purposes.

    • Worked with a small design team on several local projects, conducting site visits, client meetings and gaining valuable BiM knowledge. 
    • Compiled physical data and transferred it to a digital format for future use.

    • Worked with local contractors to help them realize their projects, gaining information about different materials and construction methods.
