Megan Tung Lin

I am a senior studying Information Systems and Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. I am passionate about designing accessible, inclusive mobile and web solutions. In the past, I worked on an autonomous vehicles research group, conducting user research and designing a car interface for people with disability. I also worked as a UX designer in a Carnegie Mellon University-based crowdfunding company, ZUZ, prototyping the minting and trading user flow and the internal system interface. I was able to develop the skill of simplifying complex procedures into an intuitive user flow, making it accessible to those who have little tech fluency. In addition to creating accessible prototypes, I also designed mobile apps for students that combat the rising loneliness caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of my key skills include: • conducting user research and competitive analysis • synthesizing findings to create user journey maps and personas using Miro • designing low, medium, and high-fidelity prototypes using Figma • iterating on the designs based on user testing findings

In the past three years, I worked as a UX designer in a Carnegie Mellon University-based crowdfunding company, ZUZ, prototyping the minting and trading user flow and the internal system interface. Since the credit is stored across blockchains, I also worked on designing the ledger to keep track of important transaction information. Through my work, I was able to develop the skill of simplifying user flow for our target users, which are local store owners with little to none tech experiences. In my last internship, I worked on designing and developing the marketplace for selling NFTs of tennis athletes. I am passionate about working on projects related to blockchains and NFTs because the decentralized system allows users, such as local store owners or artists, to easily sell or make their products without relying on an institution, such as banks. Hence, I want to continue to apply my design skills in this project, creating a simple and intuitive user flow, and continue to learn more about ways to mint and sell NFTs. I am also excited to collaborate with other members to work on improving the user experience.
