About Matt Lischer:

I am an aspiring chemist with meticulous detail orientation and effective communication skills, thriving equally in collaborative group settings and when working independently, I am capable of showcasing a versatile blend of introverted focus and extroverted adaptability. Recently graduated from UC Irvine with my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Nuclear and Radio Chemistry with the aspiration to further my knowledge in becoming a certified Nuclear Medicine Technician.

Experience

Among my time in community college, I signed up with the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Orange County Crime Lab's Explorer Program. For the duration of two years, I submitted over 400 hours of community service while completing a full-time school schedule and a few part time jobs. Among my time in both programs, I learned a small scale amount of the type of responsibilities that law enforcement often deals with. I developed skills that greatly improved my skills in communication and training regarding crowd control, first aid, and community policing. The skills I learned at this program translated to my performance at school, allowing me to portray a strong sense of leadership and team-oriented behavior.

I worked a series of part time and full time jobs while attending both community college and UC Irvine. Most recent positions I had was working as a private general and organic chemistry tutor.

Education

I attended Saddleback Community College for six years between 2016-22, where I earned my associate degree in Chemistry, Communication, and general education with Honors. For a series of five semesters, I earned a place on the Dean's Honor List and earned a scholarship with SCE-In Support of STEM Student Success (IS4). From having a competitive academic record in completing Organic Chemistry, I had the honor of earning the respect of the Dean of the Physical Science department, Dr. Teresa Bear, and received a position of becoming a Chemistry tutor for Saddleback College and worked for about a year prior to graduating.

Two years worth of applying and hoping, I successfully got admitted to the University of California in Irvine, my dream school, to continue to study Chemistry. Between 2022 and 2024, I completed two years attending UC Irvine where I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry with a specialization in Nuclear and Radio Chemistry.
