About Marsha Wedderburn:
Currently, I am going through a significant transition in my life, and I am doing my best to stay strong and positive. At the moment, I am a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful identical two-year-old twins (please give me grace). I truly don’t have any excuses—after all, the Lord doesn’t give us more than we can handle. I also have a six-year-old son who has been my true motivator. He called me a “supermom” the other day, which really lifted my spirits.
The job hunt has been, how can I put this, quite discouraging and confusing. I often feel overqualified or as though I don’t meet the requirements for the positions I seek. I had three job interviews in one week, but nothing came of them. Scheduling interviews is challenging because of the twins. Additionally, government assistance is backed up by six months to a year. When I called a couple of days ago, I was informed that they had stopped assisting due to a lack of funds, which doesn’t sound right to me. Given the tough job market, I am considering going back to school to earn my master’s degree or to recertify in behavioral health counseling.

Education
My Education
Texas Southern University
Bachelorsof Art in Psychology
Minor in Biology
GPA: 3:11
I am the second of three daughters in my family, and from a young age, I took my academic pursuits very seriously. My grades consistently reflected my dedication; they were always outstanding. Throughout my childhood, I passionately played the clarinet from the sixth grade all the way through college. I aimed to make my parents proud, and my efforts paid off when I graduated high school in the top 5% of my class, earning an impressive rank of 11 out of 450 students.
Continuing my academic journey, I attended Texas Southern University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology along with a Minor in Biology. This experience not only deepened my understanding of the human mind but also enriched my scientific knowledge.
When I reflect on my character, I see myself as a profoundly patient individual. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and savoring the experience of meeting new individuals, learning from their stories, and understanding their perspectives. Many have remarked on my exceptional ability to remain calm and composed in various situations, a quality that I take great pride in. I strive for excellence in everything I undertake, pushing myself relentlessly to reach my goals. However, I also hold myself to high standards and can be quite critical when I face setbacks, which motivates me to strive for improvement.
I have decided to pursue a Master's degree in Psychology to further my education and realize my aspiration of becoming a counselor. My extensive experience in customer service has equipped me with valuable skills to support others, and my work in the restaurant industry has guided me on this path toward becoming a counselor or working in a nonprofit organization focused on families, marriage, children, and mental health.
