About Marek Stepien:
My name is Marek Piotr Stepien, and I am writing to introduce myself as an athlete and Olympian who participated in the Barcelona 1992 Olympics. Beyond my achievements in sports, I am a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering knowledge and personal growth in others.
I hold a Master of Education in Physical Education, obtained from the esteemed Józef Piłsudski Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland. Building on my academic foundation, I further expanded my expertise through postgraduate studies at the University of Warsaw, specializing in Aspects of European Development and Management Policy and Education. Recently, I completed another postgraduate program in Public Relations and Media Marketing at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. This diverse educational background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of education and its impact on individuals and society.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work at prestigious universities, including Cambridge University in the UK, the University of Notre Dame in the USA, and my alma mater, the Józef Piłsudski Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland. These experiences have allowed me to engage with students and athletes from various backgrounds, contributing to their personal and professional development.
As an educator, my passion lies in nurturing and inspiring individuals to unlock their full potential. I firmly believe in the power of education to transform lives and create a brighter future. My dedication to championing athlete development and coach training led me to actively participate in the Olympic Solidarity Program, providing vital support to National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Moreover, I had the honor of being appointed as the Official Fencing Expert for prestigious world championships by the International Fencing Federation (FIE) in Leipzig (Germany) 2017, Wuxi (China) 2018, and Dubai (UAE) 2022. In these capacities, I successfully organized and trained athletes from diverse backgrounds, fostering inclusivity and excellence in the sport of fencing.
I am passionate about imparting knowledge, fostering growth, and empowering individuals to succeed in their endeavors. The combination of my sporting background, extensive education, and international experience has shaped me into a well-rounded educator and mentor.
