She previously interned at Bank of New York as an Operational Analyst. Raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, her multicultural and multilingual background shaped her analytical approach to policy work, emphasizing people-centered impact and contextual awareness. Malaika is interested in policy roles that advance responsible resource governance, sustainability, and economic empowerment. Her long-term goal is to contribute to the mining sector at the intersection of gemology, policy, and community development.
