Majd Kattan

I am Dr. Majd Kattan, D.O., a highly accomplished and dual board-certified practitioner in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). My professional journey led me to successfully complete my Family Medicine Residency at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI, culminating in my graduation in June 2022, with the honor of receiving the Resident Research Scholar Award. My research expertise includes published work in the areas of Osteopathic Manipulation in hospitalized COVID-19 patients and a comprehensive study on the long-term effects of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

At present, I am a dedicated member of the healthcare team at Procare Health Partners, where I serve in both outpatient and inpatient capacities. My responsibilities encompass vital roles such as hospitalist affiliations at various esteemed medical centers, as well as the oversight of medical care at skilled nursing and rehab centers. My academic foundation is solid, with a Doctor of Osteopathy degree earned from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Pre-Medical Studies, with a minor in Psychology, from Oakland University.

I bring more than clinical expertise to the table. My career has been marked by active participation in significant research endeavors, particularly in medical trials and genetic testing. Furthermore, I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to education and professional growth through my involvement in academic activities. I have also contributed to the international medical community by providing essential medical lectures and fostering an environment of intellectual curiosity, clinical excellence, and compassionate patient care for Syrian medical students.

Beyond my medical qualifications, I am a Certified Personal Trainer, which underscores my dedication to holistic healthcare. My contributions to the field extend to prior publications, where I have made impactful contributions to the understanding and management of diabetes.

In my most recent position at Procare Health Partners, I had the privilege of serving in various capacities. This included hospitalist affiliations at respected medical centers, as well as the coordination of care at skilled nursing and rehab centers. My responsibilities extended to wound care, demonstrating my versatility in healthcare delivery.

Before that, I gained valuable experience as a Research Assistant at Alzohaili Medical Consultants, where I was actively involved in stage 3 diabetic drug trials and assumed various roles in outpatient clinics. Additionally, I contributed significantly as a medical assistant and research assistant at Dearborn Cardiology, specializing in cardiac monitoring and genetic testing.

My commitment to education and academic excellence is evident in my involvement in case presentations, cultural events promoting improved patient care, and monthly reviews for first-year medical students. Moreover, I had the privilege of serving as an international volunteer Residency Faculty for Syrian Medical Residents, conducting weekly medical lectures to enhance medical knowledge and clinical skills.

My research portfolio includes publications on topics such as Osteopathic Manipulation in hospitalized COVID-19 patients and a prospective cohort study examining the long-term effects of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

In addition to my published work, I have contributed to various research projects, including investigations into the impact of COVID-19 on lifestyle-related behaviors, presentations of serotonin syndrome, and fluctuations in glucose levels during fasting in diabetic patients.

Doctor of Osteopathy: I earned my Doctor of Osteopathy degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2019. This comprehensive medical education has provided me with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in patient care.

Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Pre-Medical Studies: Prior to pursuing my medical degree, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Biology & Pre-Medical Studies with a minor in Psychology at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI, graduating in May 2014. This academic background laid a strong foundation for my subsequent medical training.

Certifications and Licenses: My commitment to holistic healthcare is further demonstrated by my certification as a Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in July 2021. Additionally, I hold certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
