I’m a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to work as a front end developer, bringing communication skills from teaching and expertise in HTML, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, React, and Python developed in my internship. 

At Aware, I developed the front end of the Showcase App, an internal tool used by the sales team to demonstrate the company’s machine learning models, using technologies like React and Material UI. Before that I was a music teacher from 2009-2019 and a Latin teacher from 2016-2018.

I developed a sentence generator and vocabulary tool using Python, web scraping, and HTML parsing to generate vocabulary from the web and rule based code that produces sentences in Latin.

I enjoy exploring Machine Learning and completed Coursera's Deep Learning Specialization in 2022. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 2017 with a B.A. in Classics and a minor in Cognitive Science, which immersed me in coursework in semantics, logic, and Python programming.

At Aware, I developed the front end of the Showcase App, an internal tool used by the sales team to demonstrate the company’s machine learning models. Working on Showcase required understanding of React and Material UI to build components, flexbox and CSS grid to achieve a modern layout, as well as the React lifecycle, and SVG animations working in tandem with that lifecycle, to achieve intelligent page transformations when model information was updated based on user input. I worked with the data scientists, data engineer, and UX designers to iterate on the app experience based on feedback and evolving requirements. I built an endpoint with FastAPI to communicate models’ information to the front end. I also facilitated tech debt cleanup by bringing multiple files into alignment with ESLint standards.

Graduated summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Classics and minors in Medieval Studies, Music, and Cognitive Science. During my time at UCONN my coursework included subjects like Linguistics, Semantics, Logic, and Python Programming. 

I also earned a Deep Learning Specialization, jointly offered by Coursera and Deeplearning.ai, with coursework in project development, convolutional neural networks, and natural language processing.
