Madeleine Woolner

Madeleine woolner is a multi-disciplinary artist from Los Angeles.  Her theatre works include Soliloquiqui, co-created with Peter Tomka - a performance series hosted at by O-Townhouse at the Historic Granada Building, Bimbo Tennis - A new adaptation of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard performed at the Reed Park Tennis Courts for a sold out run, and a Solo Show titled Jury Duty performed at the Elysian Theatre.  She holds an MFA in classical acting for professional theatre from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and a BA in psychology from University of San Francisco. 

I have been creating and directing live professional theatre my entire life, starting with being the only child member of The Santa Monica Shakespeare Troupe to making site specific multi disciplinary theatrical works across Los Angeles.  I have put up work everywhere from The Globe Theatre, London, to The Reed Park Tennis Course in Santa Monica. I specialize in adapting the classics for modern audiences and am currently working on a new adaptation of Aeshcylus' Prometheus Bound.  I love to direct and fortunately I'm able to do it as my career.
