About M.USMAN ASHRAF:
Results driven passionate Water Resources Engineer with a strong background in hydrologic modeling, floodplain management, decision support systems, stormwater infrastructure, and high efficiency irrigation system design. Adept in watershed modeling, and flood risk assessment using advanced GIS, RS and simulation tools. Seeking opportunities in the U.S. to contribute technical expertise in sustainable water management, urban drainage design, and climate-resilient infrastructure planning. Authorized to work in the U.S. upon approval (EAD in process).
Experience
I have over eight years of professional experience in irrigation system design, installation and maintenance, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and stormwater management.
I have worked extensively with tools such as WaterGEMS, AutoCAD, MS-Excel, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and ArcGIS to perform watershed modeling, floodplain analysis, water supply and irrigation pipe networks, and drainage designs for urban and agricultural environments. My recent work with the Royal Commission (RC) for Yanbu, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia involved supervising operation and maintenance of large-scale irrigation systems upto 1000 mm pipe, performing hydraulic assessments, and ensuring compliance with AWWA, ASCE, and RC standards. I have also contributed to World Bank–funded projects in Pakistan, where I designed and evaluated high-efficiency irrigation systems using WaterGEMS.
In addition to my technical proficiency, I possess strong analytical and project management skills. I am adept at developing hydrologic models for flood risk and resilience assessment, pipe hydraulic modeling for irrigation and water networks, designing Low Impact Development (LID) and Green Infrastructure (GI) solutions, and conducting field investigations for stormwater BMPs. My experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams has strengthened my ability to deliver high-quality, data-driven engineering solutions on schedule.
