Luis J. Diaz Cheverez

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I speak Spanish and English fluently and have intermediate knowledge of the Portuguese language. I love to travel and meet other cultures. At this point, I have traveled to more than 38 countries where I have had the opportunity to meet great people who have become family because I really think we are a big family despite race, color, or origin. I have 13 years of experience in Education working at different levels. 

I have 13 years of experience in Education working at different levels. I taught at an alternative school in Puerto Rico from 2009-2012 with kids on parole, homeless and school dropouts. I started there at 22 years old and was promoted to Academic Coordinator. I also worked as a Math teacher in a private bilingual school before moving to Dallas in 2014. In Dallas ISD, I served as a Bilingual teacher of all subjects, especially Math and Science. In 2022, I served as an Academic Interventionist in a high school in Cedar Hill ISD in Texas. I had the opportunity to teach three undergraduate Spanish courses at the University of North Texas at Dallas. I currently work as a Spanish for the Careers teacher at the Price Career Institute South from Dallas ISD. I am a highly qualified teacher in the state of Texas with licenses in Spanish (EC-12), Health (EC-12), English as a Second Language (EC-12), Bilingual Gene alist in Spanish (EC-6), and English Generalist (EC-6). I am a DTR teacher under TEA and have experience with  Social Emotional Learning and Personalized Learning; and also Google Teacher certified.
