I have been employed with the Schlumberger group of companies since November 2005. I held the managerial position of Regional Technical Manager within United Arab Emirates (2017-2021) and currently in United State of America as Western Hemisphere Technical Service Manager for Schlumberger Production Chemistry/Technologies on a full-time basis.

In this position, I manage 25 professional degreed reports. Additionally, I fully responsible for the daily management of professional managers, laboratory scientist, technical services engineers, field engineers and laboratory staff across Middle East, Asia, North America, Canada & South America. I am responsible for all personnel actions for my reports, including hire/fire and performance reviews. I delegate tasks to my subordinates and oversee their work on a regular basis. I ensure that my team have adequate training and mentor them for career progression.

I have the following managerial responsibilities as a manager of professionals:

• setting annual objectives

• assess and reviewing employee performances

• perform employee appraisals

• setting project direction/vision and team deliverables

• reviewing team deliverables on a regular basis

• reviewing/approving technical seniority applications

• authority to interview potential candidates for hire

• recommend/review potential internal transfers

• reviewing technical seniority applications

• lead committees for company technology initiatives

• help define and refine process and practices across the organization

As Western Hemisphere Technical Manager, I have the following managerial duties in addition to the ones above as a people manager. The scope of the role include managing technical requests, including proposals, projects, and product development for Production Technology, from the United States, Canada, and South America. Production Technology/Chemistry is a key division of the global Schlumberger organization that provides oilfield technologies such as demulsifier, scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor chemicals, Oilfield automation-digitalization and services (consultancy, troubleshooting and solution in oil production system-midstream).

As Technical Services Manager, I make key decisions about the final products, technologies, and services to propose and provide to clients. I also provide strategic leadership and direction on strategies, goals, and objectives for the growth of technology, product, and services within the Production Technologies division. My managerial responsibilities include the following:

• Budgeting and follow up for the Western Hemisphere Technical Service group.

• Ensure laboratory work is carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

• Make priorities for adequate technical service capacity including technical sales presentations to North America and Latin America.

• Ensure that necessary technical documentation is prepared, stored and systematized, including statutory required documentation.

• Make all adequate technical documentation available for relevant parties.

• Evaluate the technical capacity within the group and recommend adjustment to technical staff.

• Monitor, report and administrate progress of all assigned projects.

• Review progress, evaluate results, and prepare comprehensive reports, present details of work to senior management and peers.

• Write technical papers and present in industry forums.

• Ensure that proper interfaces exist with all company functions such as Technical Services; Training; Operations; Marketing; Purchasing & Logistics; QHSE; Finance and Personnel.

• Liaise with client and supplier technical groups.

• Interface with other company research and technology application laboratories.

• Mentor subordinates, provide technical training and guidance, set objectives and review performance.

• Drive and facilitate QHSE initiatives within the Houston Technical Center.

Furthermore, I supervise and control the work of my subordinate staff by assigning work to them, monitor their work progress, conducting performance appraisals, and managing the career development of each subordinate. He will also have the authority to make or recommend personnel decisions such as hiring, firing, promotions, and leave approvals.

MY MANAGERIAL’s QUALIFICATIONS

I well qualified for the managerial position, having worked for the Schlumberger group of companies since November 2005. I currently holding managerial position of Western Hemisphere Technical Service manager and I was held the managerial position of Regional Technical Services Manager based in United Arab Emirates from December 2017 to 2021 for Schlumberger Production Technologies. Prior to assuming the role of Regional Technical Services Manager, I worked for Schlumberger in United Arab Emirates as Project Engineer from December 2012 to November 2017. I also worked for Schlumberger as PROACT Engineer from November 2010 to November 2012 across the world, including Peru, Congo, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Thailand. I joined Schlumberger in November 2005 as Process Engineer, a role he held until 2010.

CONCLUSION

I have managerial and professional experience with the multinational company. I have also gained expertise with oil & gas engineering procedures, standards, and services. My extensive managerial experience and knowledge of business practices, strategies, and objectives, as well as integration procedures and policies, are definitely beneficial to my future.
