About Liz Guertin:

Nature photographer and artist based in Columbia, MD. I photograph landscapes, abstracts, and using a technique called multiple exposures to create impressionistic photos. In 2022, I started my own company, WildLiz LLC, where I teach private students, lead workshops, and sell prints. I have a strong background in academic publishing and working with nonprofits.

PIRG is an advocate working on campaigns for the public interest related to health, safety and wellbeing. Prior to 2007, PIRG and Environment America were one organization and PIRG worked on
environmental campaigns in addition to its consumer work.
● Oversaw operational functions of the office, including the phone systems, building operations, relationships with other tenants in the building,
● Provided IT support for approximately 40 staff. Maintained hardware, provided software updates, and handled troubleshooting onsite.
● Planned events at both local and national level, including national trainings for canvass directors, fellows, and campus organizers, the 25th Anniversary Party, annual board & staff meetings, and local staff events. Managed all logistics, budgets, RSVPs, venues, caterers, and some travel &
transportation.

● Photographer for special events, including the Naturally Latinos & Taking Nature Black conferences.
● Naturalist Walks Leader planned and led naturalist walks focused on birds as well as nature travel to the New Jersey Pine Barrens & an upcoming trip to Grand Canyon in 2025.
● Water Quality Monitoring Team Leader: recruit & manage team of volunteers to participate in quarterly stream quality monitoring. ID & count benthic macroinvertebrates, evaluate stream erosion, flow & influence from roads & people; report data to Nature Forward.

SCPRO provides outings with the mission of connecting people to the outdoors so they might engage to protect the environment and wild spaces. Outings consist of hikes, kayaks, and multi-day trips in
both the front and back country.
● SCPRO Chair (2012-2016): Managed 40 outings leaders; coordinated and taught Outdoor Leadership Training 101 and 201 to new and current leaders; Planned and ran ExComm meetings and bi-annual Leaders’ Meetings.
● SCPRO Vice-Chair (2016-2020): Assisted Chair with the group of (now 50!) leaders; served as the group’s Basic First Aid instructor; served as Webmaster, managing the website and Meetup.com page.
