Leo Yarbrough Jr

Serve as hands-on technical resource responsible for the daily operations support, design, installation, configuration, maintenance and testing of IBM based mainframe hardware, operating systems, systems application software, storage and systems utilities.  Implements changes, resolves incidents and satisfies service requests for Mainframe systems and services. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for management team and peer mentor to others on the team.  

1. SME level expertise with core IBM mainframe technologies including but not limited to z/OS, storage disk and tape hardware, SDSF, JES2, VTAM, ISPF, JCL, VSAM utilities, assembler, RACF, CLIST, REXX, DFSMS, DFHSM, and SMPE.
2. z/OS operating system and OEM third party software installation and administration using SMP/E and or vendor software methods (includes IODF, and HCD skillset). 
3. Troubleshooting mainframe hardware, z/OS operating system, OEM software, CICS and DB2   application incidents. Responding to these incidents or outages during selected shifts, business hours, and 24x7 On-Call.   
4. Monitoring the usage, and availability of CPU, and storage resources in order to fine tune systems and optimize performance. 
5. Create, manage, DFSMS ACS routines to guarantee accurate data set storage group allocation.
6. Experience with managing hardware issues such as I/O errors, virtual tape library drives issues, channel and path problems, DASD issues, and IBM Support Call Home.    
7. Basic routine skills for VSAM file re-organization, and performing DASD maintenance to fix errors on VTOCS and VVDS  
8. Experience assisting application programmers with program development tools like Fault Analyzer and File Manager. 
9. Experience with security software (RACF, ACF2 and Top Secret)
10. Performing and/or coordinating temporary and permanent changes to production and tests applications. Ensuring current jobs are maintained and documented and appropriate disk or tape data files, catalog entries, and table updates are available prior for normal successful scheduled production runs. (CA-1, CA-7, CA-DISK, and ZEKE)
11. Proven ability to mentor team members and to utilize critical thinking to make decisions at a fast pace.
12. Providing excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills resulting in the ability to effectively interact with all levels of support teams, management and clients. 
13. Assisting IT Security and Internal Audit in establishing secure systems standards and for compliance management. 
14. Contributing in the planning of software and hardware upgrades. Also assisting in developing a long-term roadmap to optimize the financial investment in the mainframe
15. Keeping client and management updated on issues, status of projects, and upcoming changes through meetings, written status reports, and XCEL spreadsheets. 
16. Provisioning capacity, developing, implementing and enforcing data storage allocation standards and backup and recovery procedures. 
17. Supporting tools and methodologies that archive SYSOUT archiving for on-line viewing (SAR, ViewDirect and MobiusView)
18. Deep experience with IBM DS8000 Storage Subsystems, IBM zSeries Processors, IBM DS7700 Virtual Tape, DELL DLm8000 Tape Library, and EMC PowerMax/Symmetrix subsystems. 
19. Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues. This includes extensive hardware configuration, installation decommissioning.   
20. Experience using HCD to define entire hardware and system configurations (IODF) for multiple processors or LPARs
