Lawson Malnory

I am a musician with a diverse ranging of talents ready to support the worship experience of your members!

I am trained in Classical Percussion and have performed regularly with the full-orchestra at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas (Pastor Chuck Swindoll). I also performed in chamber ensembles for special events, including Christmas services and a special orchestra-only event. I covered instruments including timpani, snare drum, glockenspiel, xylophone, etc. I also covered the entire percussion section for the annual Christmas celebration at Cochran Chapel UMC in Dallas, TX, before moving to Arizona in 2020.

I also have extensive experience with contemporary worship music. I can provide vocals and I also play drumset, guitar, and world percussion. I performed for the Wednesday evening student services provided by Highland Park UMC on the campus of Southern Methodist University for two years and also joined the contemporary worship band at St. Michael and All Angels in Dallas on numerous occasions.

My unique additional skillset is that I am a trained ethnomusicologist and have a collection of musical instruments from around the world that I have learned to play and frequently bring to bear in worship music either to lend authenticity to a song from a different country or to add unique musical layers to contemporary standards.

I am happy to negotiate compensation based on the timeline and equipment needs. Cartage is dependent on the amount of gear you want me to bring and I'm always willing to find a rate that works for both of us - always a privilege to be a part of a worship service that brings people closer to their faith!
